How To Set Up A Virtual Assistant Service, In A Secret, In-Demand, Untapped Niche That Totally ROCKS!

I’ve never said this in a blog post, but I feel it’s necessary with what I am going to share with you in this one…This post is worth your undivided attention. If it’s not possible now, please bookmark this post and read later.

I am sitting writing today’s blog from a rather trendy cafe on the waterfront of Rethymno, Crete. I’ve just been going through emails, tidying up some client work, and thought I’d also write this blog post while I’m here.

Before I Get To The Nitty-Gritty

I am very fortunate, I have been able to enjoy surroundings like this in different countries for 7 years, all while earning a living from my computer, leaving me location independent. Back in the early days it was relatively easy, and also cheap, I had no partner, and no kids, I was single and loving the freedom of living from anywhere I wanted on a tight budget. This is not uncommon these days, many people are living this kind of life, but the real challenge, was when I met my husband and had children. I think everyone expected us to go back to the UK or the USA where my husband is from and ‘settle down’ because we couldn’t possibly keep up this lifestyle with kids. Well, we do, and we all love it. I hope I also set an example for all you strong women out there who won’t give up or give in.

  • I’m a full-time wife and mother with 2 small children.
  • I’m a dedicated business owner and entrepreneur.
  • I live life on my terms and travel the world.

Am I lucky? Maybe, but for the most part, I’m simply highly driven, hard working, extremely stubborn and rarely listen to anybody who tells me I should do something or can’t do something. Not always the best traits I admit, but they’ve got me this far.

The point of all this is, I can now provide you with a specialist, untapped niche for online service providing, and you’ll be able to apply to this a business – your own business, even as a solo-provider and you’ll be able to join me here in the sunny Mediterranean or anywhere in the world you want to work from.

What’s Adobe Business Catalyst?

This is a system I came across in 2007, I was astounded by the functionality available. As a virtual assistant, I saw a huge potential to be able to take a complex set of services and systems and role those services into one, using this one system – keeping it all simple. So I signed up for an account and started learning more about it.

I was able to see beyond what it was designed for and take the functionality and apply it to common administrative tasks that would usually require my clients to have 2, 3, 4 or more systems to complete. I introduced my ideas to my existing clients, and also the amount of money they would save by using my approach and those that embraced my ideas and changes and worked with my company for ongoing support have been delighted with the results we can achieve for them. The system was aimed, and still is primarily aimed at website designers and developers, there is an entire community of thousands of them inside the system’s partner portal, with this in mind, there was and still is an entire market of developers with clients out there who don’t provide administrative services or after-care support for their clients once their website is built. This is where I come in – and if you’re an online service provider, you could too!

The Untapped Niche

Since I have been introducing my online business programmes for budding, aspiring and developing online service providers and VA’s I have had a lot of requests to provide additional support for my members for this system. I’m happy to provide this, I can’t service all these Adobe partners in my company alone and there is plenty of business to go around – this is an untapped niche in the online service industry for virtual administrative professionals and there are many possibilities open for specialists. Systems like WordPress (while it’s excellent) are completely saturated with service providers out there, administrative support providers who specialise in WordPress are in a pond with a lot of other fish to contend with. To my knowledge Adobe Business Catalyst has a bunch of web designers and developers, but very few administrative support assistants who can help clients with the daily operations of their business through this system. You’ll be a big fish in a little pond with access to thousands of partners who can offer your services to their clients without a conflict of interest. This type of scenario doesn’t come along every day.

Starting Your Own Location Independent Service Business

The formula for introducing this service can be quite simple. You can add it onto your own existing services, or you can start from scratch! Here’s how using my Roadmap, step-by-step:

Online Training

I do listen and personally read every single message and email my colleagues (you) send me and for over a year you’ve wanted in on this Business Catalyst action, so now, we begin.

I started off with 2 blog posts, (part 1, Part 2) they explained how I use the system in a general sense. I backed this up with one solution you can do to offer professional, profitable website development for your clients (no complex techy skills required). This week, also inside the members area I have introduced a collection of videos available to you that will teach you how to operate your client consoles, this is essentially all the things that generally a developer will ‘hand over’ for the client to do themselves when they get their new website, and how many clients do we know that would rather not handle the administrative side of the business and focus on their business development? LOTS!

So you can set up your service to start providing the general administrative support within the training videos I’m providing. You can then come back and dip into them whenever you need them.
