The reason I moved into becoming an online business manager and getting the support from a team of people, was because I wanted to run my business, I didn’t want my business to run me. I changed my business model with a view to eventually working purely on a managerial and consulting basis, allowing me to hire other virtual assistants to replace the task driven work I was doing. The fact is, the more experienced we get, the more clients we take on, and the more in demand and sought after we become, as a result – the more your business will demand of your time, but there is a solution.
Online business management is not a cop out, it’s not a way for you to pass the buck or do wrong by your clients, it’s about demonstrating your ability to grow and progress, showing your entrepreneurial talents, in having the skills to be able to expand your own business — which can also make you be seen as a far more valuable asset, and then showing that you actually have the ability to do this, while still being responsible, and hiring competent, trustworthy and reliable people to assist you in the changes which are taking place to ensure that the clients not only keep the consistency of quality, but it many cases, receive an improved quality of service, due to the pressure being taken off your shoulders and distributed onto several more, skilled and equally as “caring and committed professionals.”
The clients will not have lost a virtual assistant, but gained a virtual business manager and a team of virtual assistants, thus allowing their business to possibly progress even faster with a larger repertoire of services and skills on offer to them.
The Front Line.
Moving to a multi-VA team is something that can come in time, and for me I started hiring virtual assistants to help me with servicing my clients, but for a long time it was always me on the ‘front line,’ so to speak, this was a hassle for me and became complicated with all the micro-managing, but what was really holding me back was the consideration that my clients may look elsewhere or be disappointed if they thought it wasn’t ‘me’ doing everything. But the fact is, when it finally came to it, it made no difference whatsoever to my clients, the work was being done to the same if not higher standard, they embraced being in contact with the specialists on my team, and I was always there for them if they needed me, even more-so now that I had more time on my hands.
Giving the ‘appearance’ of doing everything yourself can often be a hard task to keep up with, and a lot of hassle to say the least. Switching to becoming an online business manager with a multi-VA team will free you from your business, allowing you to expand with comfort and ease, knowing that if you’re not on top of everything, all the time, if you’re not there everyday, the business will still keep ticking over and your clients will still remain happy – providing you get it right, and don’t become complacent.
