Want A Better Outcome? Start Facing The Actual Facts...

This probably won't be the first place you'll hear this, it certainly won't be the last. It's not new, it's existed since the dawn of time and has been proven through quantum physics, through miracles happening to people all over the world and in multiple religious books and manuscripts. It's one of the things that contributes to everything you see around you right now.

One thing I have been researching and experimenting with for over a year now is realising that my belief system is what controls most of the outcomes in my life. This can be applied to business, relationships, love, money, health and wellbeing - in fact I don't think there's a single thing I don't apply this to.

Is it a belief or a fact?

A lot of us take our beliefs and turn them into facts in our mind, and this can be the biggest issue in our lives and controlling outcomes.

It's very important to distinguish a belief from a fact. Let's apply this to your business.

"I never find clients on LinkedIn."

This is a belief, the fact is you haven't found a client so far on LinkedIn, probably because you don't believe deep down you will.

"Nobody would pay that for my services."

Total belief, there's no way you have surveyed every human being on the planet to know they won't pay a certain price for your service.

"I'm no good at that."

Belief. Again you haven't believed you're good at it, so you've stayed no good at it, or just admit you have no interest in it and your mind doesn't want to go in that direction.

Now onto facts, so you can distinguish the two...

"I have a website."

If you actually do have a website, this would be a fact.

"I had toast for breakfast."

Again a fact if you did have toast for breakfast.

"I have a blue car."

Fact if you do have a blue car.

Do you see how subtle the differences can appear between a belief and a fact. You can stand in front of the mirror and say "I'm ugly" - when someone else looking at you sees the most beautiful person they've ever set eyes on. What you're saying to yourself as you look into the mirror, is a belief, not a fact.

It's your belief, and their perception that creates both those outcomes.

How many times have you said, "Well the fact is..." but ended the sentence with a belief instead, think about it...

Well the fact is I'm not beautiful enough, brave enough, smart enough etc... They are all beliefs.

Negative and positive beliefs

If there are certain areas of your life or business that aren't going well for you, examine what your inner most thoughts are surrounding those things and really be honest with yourself about the beliefs you carry towards them.

Have you been trying for ages to get a new client, and come up with a bunch of reasons why you haven't so far secured them? For example, "It must be the Economy." "It's because I might not have the right branding." "It's because I'm no good at consultations." "It's going to take a long time." "I'm just no good at this." "I can't sell myself." "There is too much competition." - these are all beliefs that will keep those clients you seek at a distance. When you find your belief (start with your self-talk or your subconscious) and work on changing the belief, just the same way as you acquired it, self-talking your way out of it over a period of time, no longer acknowledging the old belief to be true, you'll find your experience around you changes, for example you might meet the perfect client when you least expect it.

Look at the actual facts of the matter, learn to determine what actually is a fact or your personal belief, and work on changing your beliefs to experience better outcomes.

Sitting there telling yourself, "I just can't do this, something must be wrong with me" or "I don't know what to do" then stressing yourself out trying to force how things enter into your life is a completely counter productive process.

Are You At The End Of Your Rope?

If you feel like you've done everything you can and you're fed up of trying to figure it all out, and want to just give up finding a solution, congratulations! Because now you can move onto the one thing you might not have given your attention to which is the one thing that will finally help you, so ditch the question "What do I need to do to make this happen for me?" then instead ask yourself "What do I need to believe in order to make this happen for me?"

Start from there and work on it everyday until you begin to see patterns of changes and small successes appear in your daily life. You'll be in the right place at the right time, you'll meet the right people, the opportunities will begin to come in that match your new belief, not your old one. Ideas and inspiration will start to flow, and you'll know what to do at the moment that it's right for you to know.

Just like you always knew what to do, or not to do, to keep your old negative belief happening in full force.

This isn't some 'woo woo' positive thinking nonsense, it's real and applies to everyone, including you. The sooner you can accept that your thoughts and beliefs impact the outcomes of your daily existence and experience, the quicker your tune will change.

This has been demonstrated all over the world.

Let's Look At An Example

Do you think the Wright brothers listened to all the people around them that told them they were crazy to think they could get their plane to fly? I'm sure that everyone looked at the law of gravity and told them that "the fact" is it's impossible to fly a heavy object in the air, and do you think the Wright brothers agreed and just hoped for the best believing it probably won't work, or do you think they believed they could do it and were driven by desire and determination to see it through?

Take Nikola Tesla, to him electricity was first an idea, then a belief, one he held onto until it happened.

Everything in our world came from the contribution of a belief that it can and will be done, whether it's for the good or the bad. Now what will you do with this knowledge in your world knowing anything is possible?

You have nothing to lose and everything to gain by believing in what you want, and not believing in what you don't want. If you find things aren't working out the way you'd hoped, maybe consider what you're actually accepting on board as a fact - when it should be simply a belief, one that could be changed if it doesn't serve you and what you want from life.
