This is an interview, and it’s also kind of a treat, I was considering whether I should cut this interview as it turned into a bit of a 2 for the price of one thing – but in the end, I decided no, I am going to leave this uncut – and for real.
I recently had the pleasure of spending an evening chatting with Dane Maxwell on Skype. Not only was this guy a pleasure to talk to, he also opened my mind to a whole new world of possibility in software – now I thought the world of software was for Geeky genius people who never saw daylight. You’ll see from this fine figure of a man that Dane is anything but Geeky, but I freely admit, there is something quite genius about him.
When I was approached by Andy Drish, a colleagues of Dane’s in thefoundation.io, asking if I would be interested in interviewing Dane for my site, I was like, “Dude, what has selling software got to do with online service providing?” – but after a couple of back and forth emails, and seeing a spark of potential for making this all work together, I agreed to interview Dane (and his dog Winny) so he could tell me (and you guys) about the possibilities surrounding software for online service providers.
How This Went.
The first half of the interview went as expected, I asked questions which would help me (and you) get to know Dane and what he does, as I think he may be new to you. But the second half of the interview was an interesting twist of events where Dane managed to get me to open up as an online service provider to see where this software thing could take me in my own business, and I was astounded, not only at the possibilities, but how he broke down the barriers I was putting up, also referred to as “limiting beliefs” and he convinced me that anything could be possible when you know how – not how to develop software, or even market it – but just when you know “how” to go about it.
Check out the interview (apologies as it got a little hard to hear in parts due to a sticky internet connection) and you’ll see how we ended up taking a journey on how I, as an entrepreneur and online service provider, could get started in the software industry, and now why I have gone from sceptic to sold on the idea – I think now every entrepreneur should try this at least once in their life. It’s pretty fail safe and could become an extremely lucrative business venture providing you listen to Dane and follow his guidance.
Here’s my final verdict…
If I had any inclination to want to develop a piece or several pieces of software, and expand into earning more of a passive income that gelled well with my online service business, I would want Dane by my side pointing me in the right direction.
If after watching this you agree and think that Dane is most certainly the guru you need to learn from about using software as a viable business venture then check out his website and connect with The Foundation on Facebook, don’t forget to tell him Michelle Dale sent you – he’s one of the most genuine people I have ever interviewed, and at the same time I also got a free one-on-one mentor session with this guy! Sweet.
