Want the best from your online banking? Here are some options...

Michelle Dale - Thursday, February 08, 2018

I often get asked about banking online as a digital nomad, so I thought I'd share a bit of insight with you.

In all honesty, we've had some problems over the years, like for example, for about 6 years we lived only in holiday accommodation - that meant no utility bills or proof of address, so getting any decent banking facility was a bit of a nightmare, and quite impractical, let alone the amount of times our address changed - to a different country!

Fortunately times have changed and I have a few solid possibilities for you, whether you're a nomad or just looking for an alternative banking option. I've just done a virtual banking jaunt, and these are my personal top 3.

Transferwise

This is a pretty awesome online banking system with multiple currencies, much cheaper exchange and transfer fees, that also comes with a business account and a card. You can get an account (and a free transfer!) here through my personal invite link.

Monese

This has been awesome, just a passport and a selfie on your phone and you'll be up and running in no time. They offer accounts in Euro and GBP and I have both. It comes with a card for each account and you bank entirely through your mobile app.

Use my code XMUEHAHK and you'll get a £5 welcome gift!

Revolut

This is another good one, I've got a Euro account so far and business accounts are available in certain countries. Revolut even have the option to unlock cryptocurrency - you can't get much more digital nomad than that!

Using virtual banking is getting easier and I know this is going to be the way forward in the future, not just for digital nomads but for non-nomads as well :-) Plus, from my experience, you can never have too many accounts or cards, it helps that feeling of abundance and gives you plenty of places to distribute your wealth from your online business - all good vibes.

Have fun!
