My Adventures In Delhi, India

Monday, June 13, 2016

Guess what, I'm back from India, and even though this post has been delayed while I get back in my groove, plus I'm not sure if you've ever put a 'holidays/vacation' blog post together with images and video, but it takes a fair while trying to condense it - I could have made this into a novel, so I'm splitting my travels up into different posts, in this one we're doing Delhi and The Taj! My oh my did I have an awesome time and it's still very fresh in my mind :-)

How To Quit Your Job And Experience Financial Freedom In Under 3 Months

Tuesday, March 15, 2016

In February 2005 when I was 23, I was pretty fed up with several things, such as the daily commute to the city, the huge council tax bill, the ridiculously large mortgage that I would most likely be paying into my retirement and the sheer predictability of everything in my life. Does this sound familiar to you?

One day I came home to find my house had been robbed (that's the short version of the story) but when you have something like that happen it makes you sit down on your empty living room floor and think... I had problems – I wasn't happy, this was the kind of shock I needed to get me out of the trance state that was my daily existence. When I took a look at my problems, I could see the only way out would be to make a significant life change, I needed a break – but I was in no position to do that with my cost of living each month. I decided that in order to do this, I would need to get rid of my mortgage and my living expenses. Now this isn’t so easy in the UK, costs of living are high, and you need a steady job. So my only option was to dramatically reduce my living costs. This is when I decided I would have to take action and actually move in order to do this.

Thoughts On The Paris Attacks

Sunday, November 15, 2015

With the events this week in France where more than 120 people were killed in a horrific terrorist attack in the capital, and there were many more injured, I don't think we can help but think to ourselves, what if...

A Digital Nomad In Crisis #GREXIT

Travelling or living permanently abroad for me is a blessing, one I'm thankful for every day, but you have to learn to take the rough with the smooth. We've been in and around Crete now for a while, we absolutely love it here, and even after a stint last year in my favourite location, Egypt, we decided to return back here to the island. But has Paradise fallen?

The Doctor or The Dinner Lady - Who's More Successful?

Thursday, June 25, 2015

How we define success is very much shaped by society. I remember when I was young, all I could focus on was career, independence - Income... I thought success was directly related to my bank balance, my home and its contents and my car. On a mentorship call I was holding with a group of people on my Rockstar programme I recently used the analogy of the Doctor and the Dinner Lady, I wanted to share this with you.

Exploring Schooling Options For Digital Nomads With Kids

Wednesday, September 10, 2014

We knew this day would come - my son is 6, almost 7. He starts his ‘big school’ this week. From my own experience, I’m very sorry to say, I got nothing from school really, other than an awesome drama teacher (the only subject I got an ‘A’ in) and social skills. I was not academic, I had no interest, it just wasn't what my brain was programmed for, and I completely understand that my children may be the opposite… Now we have to make certain educational choices for our children, and being a digital nomad, these are much more challenging than they are for the average family.

7 Amazing Tips For Creating A Take-Away Anywhere Business

Thursday, December 05, 2013

Having an office at home is great, you can corner off a room or area of your house and use it just for working; if you're lucky enough you'll be able to close the door on it afterwards and leave all your work stuff in place ready for your next visit. Being a digital nomad on the other hand where you need to literally be able to pick your office up and go, sometimes at a moment's notice can be a challenge; here are my top tips for creating a travelling work environment.
