Guidelines On The Reasons Why Search Engine Optimisation Is An Essential Internet Activity
December 18, 2010
You could define search engine optimisation in a different way or perhaps in just one word in the event you wanted to — visibility. You will find honestly billions of web pages in the online world, along with millions more being listed each day by those key search engines. How on earth is it possible to make certain that your work of genius is in front of the face of potential buyers? A difficult proposition if you take a seat and think it over as it were, but one which is infinitely possible if you go about it the right way.
In order for the webpages to be exposed to the target market when people search for material which is related and appropriate, you will need to notify the online search engine – the vehicle if you will – what it really wants to find out. Search engine optimisation could be the discipline associated with designing and presenting your site in a way that it fulfils the standards for inclusion within results, as a plausible solution.
The various search engines offer thousands and thousands or maybe millions of solutions in reply to a search query term which is typed in their question field. They will determine an applicant for inclusion within these SERPS, or search engine results pages, according to complicated algorithms. This is usually a strictly automatic series of functions and not the field of real human interaction; therefore it follows that people should ascertain, to the very best of our ability, exactly what the engines like Google are looking for.
Whenever you create a brand-new web page, the goal is to get it listed. This implies the search engines have recognised its existence and also classified it according to their own algorithms. Exactly how you design and show your webpage thus remains very important, if the engines like Google are going to categorise it “correctly” in your eyes.
The various search engines have an endless number of different conditions as they ascertain the very best candidates for presentation in response to a specific search phrase. These companies do not tell you just how their algorithms are composed, thus we must develop relatively educated guesses to determine our search engine optimisation strategies. There are so many different sites around the world these days, that results are often split geographically, as well. For example, for the purposes of SEO UK answers are returned separately of USA results.
In the event that we are able to break it into simple terms, search engine optimisation is all based around a range of keywords. You must optimise your website for the particular keyword or keyword phrases and be sure the engines like Google understand that you’re doing so. This involves you to replicate the keyword in a variety of places on the site, as part of a recognition process and also together with certain other terms or phrases. Your capacity to do this correctly will to some extent determine how your site looks within the search results.
Obviously, the practicality of your over-all web presence depends on your success right here and you will find organisations that focus on SEO services that are up to date with the existing algorithms and may help you achieve your objectives.
Indispensable Tips On Flyer Design To Corporate Video Production – Is Your Current Marketing Strategy Comprehensive?
December 17, 2010
Precisely what does it take to dissect the noise today? We’re bombarded with marketing and advertising messages from the time that any of us wake up each morning to the time that many of us go to bed in the evening. Almost everywhere we look we see a logo, mantra, cleverly designed telephone number or a whole host of cutting-edge efforts in order to capture our focus. You could have the best business idea of all time, but you are up against an uphill battle if you are intending to build your message to market correctly.
Marketing is definitely a dynamic field, ever-changing plus ever evolving. The advertising and marketing business appears completely different today than it did twenty years in the past, that is for certain. The meteoric rise of the Web and, of late, social media marketing has rewritten the guidelines for all of us. Even though some folks feel that the web has replaced conventional marketing promotions completely, this really is not even close to the case. A properly formed marketing strategy will include components of both online and off-line activity.
Even though some people today might be hitched to their smart phones, the majority still operate in the off-line environment and so are prone to messages couched in more familiar layouts. When we attend events or business venues we could still be contacted through the use of marketing brochures. When we attend group meetings or conferences we can still be contacted by using the classic business card.
Being company owners we have to all try to accept the standard ways of marketing. Whilst smart phones and just about all they offer are undoubtedly the rage, it’s important to appreciate that this trend is actually split along demographic lines, to a significant extent. A lot of those decision-makers who’re likely to get your service or product are often a bit more traditional.
This is simply not to imply that you should be completely traditional when it comes to flyer design or business card design and you are absolutely advised to think outside the box at this point. You certainly need a sales message which defines you and also makes the receiver pause and consider for a moment. That initial impression is everything therefore you only have a single opportunity to create it.
Whenever you do turn to your online presence along with your website, keep in mind that good content material is extremely important. Quite simply, the written content of the web site is what helps keep individuals find their way back. You might be conscious that there’s a movement toward video material which is certainly something you should take hold of. With commercial video creation you can develop eye-catching and fascinating net video which puts your sales message across in a truly dynamic format. Folks are more likely to click on the “play” tab on the video they discover on the homepage today and you should grasp this trend.
Do not go searching for your incredibly elusive “miracle bullet” when it comes to business marketing and advertising. It does not exist today and it probably never will. Embrace the old world and the new world alike and never decide on just one medium at the cost of some other.
Useful Suggestions On Becoming A Digital Nomad Mother
December 16, 2010
As parents, you might ask yourself whether you are doing the right thing if you really want to travel, but are not absolutely sure if it’s the appropriate thing to do.
It’s normal to have this kind of inner feeling, to be able to ask yourself whether such an idea would be bad for your children, or to wonder what your family might think, what you would do about schooling, education and other “normal” parts of life.
You’re not the first to think this way. I remember the time that I found out that I was pregnant and I walked over to a place called “Sunset Cocktail,” which is on the banks of the Nile River in Luxor and ordered a drink at this small cocktail bar on the river and watched the sun go down by myself; by the way, I really needed a drink! I felt that the drink was okay as I was just a few weeks pregnant, but more importantly this was likely to be the end of my travels. That I was going to be a mum now, so I would have to do the responsible thing, go back to the UK, settle down, get back into the ‘system’ and I was very sad about it. I didn’t want to go back to somewhere where I would be miserable, but I pondered on what choices I had… During that evening many thoughts crossed my mind, and when I left the bar, I had totally made my mind up, that wherever I went, this baby was coming with me, and I wasn’t going to spend the next 16 years back in the UK!
Here are the thoughts that I formulated that night…
1. This is MY Life, Isn’t It?
Whether you have 1 child or 10, you need to always remember that you have a life too, and your children aren’t going to be very happy if you aren’t. I absolutely hated the lifestyle in the UK and why should I imagine that my children would think otherwise?
Of course I would never put my child in any harm’s way and I would always make sure that he had somewhere to stay, and experienced those books, toys and games, nice clothes, celebrations of Christmas, birthdays, Oreo’s (as my kids are half American), Thomas the Tank Engine episodes on the TV, etc. The most important thing is of course the Love of a mother and you should remember that all of these important things can be sourced pretty much wherever you are. And to take advantage of this kind of opportunity quickly, seriously consider taking on someone looking into virtual assistant certification on their own, or even a team of virtual assistants, to help you get everything up-and-running fast!
This was MY life, and now I simply had a new addition to it.
Thought #2 What Does Staying In One Place Have To Offer?
When you take a look at your current surroundings, what does it really have to offer you? The trappings of life in the Western world sometimes blind us to the material things that we think we need, such as cars, retail shops and so on, but if you deduct all that, what does your current location actually offer you? Your absolute basic needs can be met, no matter where you are located. And don’t forget, someone looking into virtual assistance can help you with all the details, at a great price, while they’re still in training to be a VA.
Thought #3 What Would Family & Friends Think?
If you have never thought about being a digital nomad, you might think that leaving your friends and family behind would be quite hard, but remember that technology is so advanced these days that nobody is really that far away in real terms. Skype is a marvellous invention which allows you to have a great conversation with a loved one at any time, for free, as if they were right next to you!
The world is really a small place and you can travel around it all in just a few days, so leaving a country doesn’t mean that you are leaving behind those important relationships and you should remember that.
Ultimately, as harsh as it sounds, what your friends and family think does not really count. I am sure that if it’s what you really want, and you express this to them, they will be supportive of your decision.
Amazing Tips On The Value Of Being “Real” In Business
December 15, 2010
Whether you’re an experienced Multi-VA company or you are just starting out on your journey, you will always need to consider your “Brand.” To me, a brand is a unique identifier which is imprinted on the memory of your clients, and your potential clients.
I think that due to the advancement of Social Media, branding is far easier these days than it used to be. There was a time when it was all about what your website looked like, your logo, the colours and its functionality and this is still true today; while these are very important elements of a brand, this is not the most important thing within the Virtual Assistant industry anymore when it comes to building that brand.
So what is actually important?
It’s YOU!
What you have to do before you consider selling your services is to sell yourself and this is by far the best way and the least complicated alternative, when it comes to building your brand.
Think about it for a minute… If you were to visit 40 or 50 virtual assistant websites, you might not see something which really jumps out at you and says “pay attention, because I am the VA that you need.” Most likely, a lot of those websites will be offering similar services, they will be made up of different colours, and different stock images of people sitting in offices looking at computers, or perhaps they will have on them the trusty client handshake picture… While this is all very well and may be very professional, it’s a bit out of date and definitely impersonal and to have a website like this is like having chilli, without the powder. Really keep this in mind, as it can make all the difference between a resounding success, and an unfortunate long term failure.
You are real, you are alive and YOU alone can be the hook when someone lands on your website, or finds you through social media. Just be careful, however, that when you do portray yourself as a brand for them, you are putting “the real you” forward for them to see and that it is not just a staged situation. By this I mean, don’t try to impress potential clients with anything that is too false or a little bit robotic. When you realise that you have something rather special to sell and you will be able to perform an excellent service, according to a particular set of skills, or at particularly competitive rates, put this across to people via audio, video and media, but remember that you are talking to real life people and don’t act as if you are just talking to a microphone or camera. So whether you’re considering how to be a virtual assistant now, or you’re thinking about how to be a virtual assistant in future, or even if you’ve had some sort of training on how to be a virtual assistant, come by for a visit and find out what other like-minded individuals have to say within the amazing field of Virtual Assistance!
Reality is the thing that will sell here, so long as you’re honest, sincere and remember that you are talking to humans. It’s very difficult to capture the real you in a virtual environment, but with services such as YouTube and Vimeo, we are a lot closer than we were before, and if you want to get ahead in the race, using these channels of communication, and be yourself — you are not at a job interview — you are telling your visitors that it’s their lucky day because they’ve finally found you
How Can a Server Colocation Service Benefit You?
December 14, 2010
Server colocation is usually a service frequently used by organizations who prefer the benefit of their own dedicated server, yet whose web site bandwith needs are really costly (as a result of many visitors and/or large downloads). Essentially, instead of maintaining their servers onsite, these businesses have their servers with a server colocation provider where they rent room and bandwidth.
Individuals and organizations with substantial sites that recieve a lot of traffic every day, or who get a lot of downloads from their website or uploads to their website, are those who are best suited to utilizing a server colocation service. Generally, server colocation services are best used wherever the cost of bandwidth would be more for the company than would the cost of the server colocation service. The bandwidth used by the server is actually shared with the server colocation company, hence reducing the overall cost of the service plan to the company or individual who uses it.
Organizations that do not have their own dedicated servers, can often rent a server from a server colocation provider. In cases like this, the company does not own the server, but does own the data kept on it (this is generally a dedicated server).
Before deciding to use a server colocation service, there are a number of things a business has to take into account. Bandwidth requirements are the first and foremost concern. A server colocation provider may turn out to be more costly than hosting your own server or using a shared host if the bandwidth usage isn’t high enough to warrant the expense. This is mostly determined by the quantity of visitors and daily popularity of the site. Businesses who have very popular websites that get masses of regular visitors and so use a lot of bandwidth will often discover that server colocation services are much less pricey than self hosting of servers, or other server choices.
Server colocation providers have varying cost scales based on the size of the server (sizes between 1U and 7U are usually normal for the majority of servers), naturally the costs for bigger servers are more expensive because of the space they consume (A 1U server is around 4.5cm or 1.75 inches). Other costs include the server connection fee, and the sort of connection used. The connection is also known as a “pipe” and can range in size from 1mbps to 1000mbps. In general, the larger the connection, the higher the monthly cost.
There are numerous rewards in using a server colocation service. The foremost is that the server colocation provider is well equipped to cope with any issues that may occur in server operation (these may include power outages, for which there’s often a backup generator). The second reason is that server colocation providers may also offer more secure storage features for your server (than could be had in a home or office environment), this is generally because it is crucial for server colocation providers to provide the best degree of protection for themselves and their customers.
Useful Thoughts On Having A Trial Time When Working With Anyone
December 13, 2010
You’ve decided to jump in head first and hire a virtual assistant subcontractor. After talking to a number of associates and colleagues, you have centered your attention on Lisa Sub. Everybody says that Lisa works hard and will be a great addition for your business. She is among the list of virtual assistants who are rather talents.
After getting in touch with Lisa Sub and agreeing on a rate for a specific project, you finalize a contract, send the details and wait for Lisa to return the finished work at the given deadline. Eager to be a supportive manager, you get in touch with Lisa the next day to see she has any questions that you might need to answer. By that night though, you have heard nothing back from Lisa. You just conclude that she is so busy and that she does not have the time to answer any e-mails. Surely, you will receive a reply to your e-mail tomorrow morning. Unfortunately, that’s not what takes place. Three days later, you’re frantically trying to contact Lisa. Numerous calls and e-mails have gone unanswered and you simply don’t know what to do, short of jumping on a plane and flying out to see if she’s still alive, or not.
Yet another day goes by and the client is starting to ask some questions now, eager to know how the project is progressing, while also looking for an alteration here or there. You still can’t reach Lisa, so you start working on the project yourself. You can still meet the deadline if you keep working at it all night until it’s done. And then Lisa emails. She’s been off at her sister’s house, which has no Internet. She’s been working on the project and it’s all finished, right on schedule. You go through it, and the work is excellent. But you’re so worn out at this point, you almost don’t care.
The moral of this story: Make sure you give your subcontractor a trial period before you give them any important client work. Had you put Lisa through her paces first, you’d discovered that she has a habit of not communicating during a project, even though she does the work, does it well, and does it cheerfully. This situation may or may not be a deal breaker for you – either you can handle Lisa’s silence because of her excellent work, or you’re going to be so stressed out by the lack of communication during the project that you can’t possibly work with her.
A virtual assistance trial period can also bring out other issues:
1. Any inability to perform.
2. Missed deadlines.
3. Negative attitudes.
While certain problems may well arise during the trial period, you will be able to handle these as they emerge and can avoid any bigger issues in the future. Under all circumstances, make sure that you pay the subcontractor during the trial period. Any contract that you sign should include all the details of the trial period.
Keep good notes and give the subcontractor constructive feedback after the trial is concluded. It’s likely that Lisa has worked with your associates or colleagues for a long time and has never given cause for concern before. If you ask Lisa to be available for communication throughout the project, she may be more than happy to do so.

Powerful Pointers On Using Freelancers Through Your Virtual Assistant Enterprise
December 8, 2010
Sometimes your workload as a virtual assistant can get quite heavy. One of the best ways to handle it is to outsource some of your work to other virtual assistants. How do you go about this? Let’s dig a bit deeper to get your mind wheels spinning. If we can get you out from under some of that heavy load of working all the time, life will be a whole lot sweeter, right?
What Jobs Do We Outsource?
When you work with clients, there is a measure of confidentiality going on. You will have to work with confidential e-mails, sensitive databases, legal documents and other schedules. These can’t fall into the wrong hands. Therefore, as you are the person who got this particular contract from the client, you need to be sure that all information is kept safe and you therefore have to be careful about who you bring in to help handle this specific work for you.
You’ve made the first important decision and that is to get somebody else to help you provide a high level of service for the clients, but more about this shortly. In the meantime, you need to be congratulated for understanding how important this is. What will you delegate to them?
The jobs that you will probably be looking to outsource at first are those that don’t involve a lot of contact with confidential information. And, the jobs will be small at first so that you can get an idea of your new helper’s work style and ethic. These are some of the tasks that you can give them in the very beginning:
• Article submissions
• Writing articles
• Putting together presentations and reports
• Creating newsletters
• Researching online
Article writing can be used for website content or article submissions. Clients with websites like to keep it up-to-date with fresh, pertinent information and if you find someone who can help you whip out that content in a timely and top-quality manner, you’re in business.
Companies use reports to send to their clients and also for internal use. To put this kind of report together requires knowledge of working with PowerPoint to compile presentations, or various other tools to combine databases and spreadsheets into the equation. If this information is okay for this particular purpose, pass the task of creating these reports to somebody else.
Research online is used for developing reports, writing articles or manuscripts and more. You have to know what you’re doing if you are to get the best information from the search engines at your disposal. If you have someone helping you who doesn’t mind digging into research and possesses the skills to find what you need quickly, you’re on the right track.
Even if you don’t outsource any job that involves confidential material, it is wise to get any subcontracting virtual assistants to sign a confidentiality agreement. This way, as you get more confident and need more in-depth help, you don’t have to worry about anyone selling trade secrets. It’s also a good idea to have all your outsourcers and assistants complete a nondisclosure agreement, also known as an NDA, depending on the category of work concerned. While we won’t go into detail about NDAs, this can help protect you should your virtual assistance specialist decide to leave and pursue his or her own career and become your competition.
Great Considerations On Getting Others To Link To Your Website
December 7, 2010
Building links to your website is a successful endeavor, but it’ll take a lot of work on your side. As links are considered one to be increasingly valuable, bloggers will no longer give you links just out of courtesy. Building relationships with individuals in targeted niches and your readers is essential.
Employ any combination of the below tips to build links to your website:
• You have to ask. You have to go out of your way to make an effort here and simply providing a link on your site asking people to link, associated with a few buttons or text, is not likely to work. At the end of every post or page, encourage visitors to add a link to your site. Of course, it never hurts to ask in this case, it can often get you exactly what you want!
• Build a strong rapport and a good relationship with other people in your niche. You might find that an authority or a “guru” will link back to you, just because of this.
• Make a list. Composing content, such as “101 tips,” “101 ways to…,” “5 myths about…,” and so on are great ways to attract interest and links. They’re typically quick-reads, filled with helpful information, and can make you an “authority” in your field while getting others to link to your site.
• Build a “little black book” online and fill it with resources related to your niche or website. Experts in the field, celebrities that are interested in your topic, resource sites and authoritative information are always good for a backlink.
• Find out what the top 10 article directories are at Alexa and then write articles and submit them, as well as to other sites that like articles in your subject area.
• Research to find out who the bloggers are in your niche with large followings, contact them and offer original posts on that topic, so long as you get a live link to your website.
• Become the “go-to” person for whatever it is you do. For example, Jimmy Brown became known as the PLR guru because he, effectively, invented it. If you do something significant in your niche, people will really want to associate with you and post a link to your website on their portal. In this kind of an environment, a virtual assistant can thrive, generating incredible numbers of potential long term contacts for your business.
• Tell all your family members and friends about a new article on your site or a new resource, asking them to link to it if they would be so good.
• Write posts or articles about companies that create links to corporate news on their sites. Visit the corporate website and look for “media” links or “in the news” and you’ll discover backlinks to anything written about that company online. Many large companies have alerts set up specifically to locate such articles and blog posts so they can link to them.
• Consider DMOZ and other free directories, which are great for establishing links to your site. Directory links add up and you can spend an afternoon submitting your site and acquire several links in no time at all.
• Promote your site locally to get local links as well. Promote your site to local websites, organizations and directories. Join local groups that list their members’ websites online. Sponsor contests that give links to your site. Do everything that you can think of to build backlinks. And to take advantage of this quickly, seriously consider taking on a virtual assistant, or even several virtual assistants as part of a team to maximise your efforts in a very short span of time.
It does take time to build a lot of quality back links, but the effort is worth it. Imagine how many new visitors and readers you could obtain with each additional backlink you receive.
